Luang Por Pan was a native of Bang Bo, Samut Prakan Province. He was born at Khlong Nang Hong, Bang Hia Subdistrict (currently Khlong Dan Subdistrict), Samut Prakan Province in 1825. His father was named "Pluem", who was half Thai and half Chinese. His mother was Thai, named "Tan", and her occupation was mangrove forestry. His family lived in Khok Setthi Village.
